Why is my credit or debit card deactivated for online payments?

As per RBI guidelines, with a view of protecting cardholders from fraudulent activity and misuse, card-issuing banks have disabled the use of cards for online payments if,

• The debit or credit card has been issued on or after September 30th, 2020
• The debit or credit card has not been used for online payments in the last 12 months
