We understand how frustrating it is to be a victim of online fraud. There are channels available for you to report fraud and try to recover your money.

Steps to report fraud
For any cases of UPI fraud, it's important to take quick action to report your issue. Here’s what you can do to try and get your money back if you’ve lost out to a scam.

1. Take payment screenshots, note the 12-digit UTR, fraudster's bank account details, mobile number of the fraudster, and other important information.
2. Raise a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police - If you can't go to a cyber cell, please immediately raise a complaint here or contact them on 1930. You can also file an FIR at your local police station. They will help your raise your complaint to the right authorities.

What happens next
Once you raise a compliant, the Cyber Crime Cell will investigate this for you. You can continue to track your request on their portal.

To stay safe in the future, remember:
- You never have to ‘Pay’ or enter your UPI pin to receive money on PhonePe. A genuine sender only requires your phone number to send you money.
- In case you have been sent a fraudulent collect-call request, decline it and contact PhonePe support on the app.
- PhonePe never asks for confidential details. If you are asked for such details by anyone posing as a PhonePe representative, please ask them to send you an email. Only respond to emails from the @phonepe.com domain.
- Do not search for PhonePe customer support numbers on Google, Twitter, FB etc. The ONLY official way to reach PhonePe customer support is support.phonepe.com
- Never call/respond to unverified mobile numbers claiming to be PhonePe Support.
- Connect with us only on our official accounts across various social media platforms.

We urge you to be extremely cautious while making payments to anyone that is unknown to you. You must always verify the identity of the recipient before initiating a payment or sharing your details.
