I was promised a fake job or investment if I make a payment

You may receive SMSes or WhatsApp messages with links to apply for part-time jobs. Once you sign up for the job, you will be asked to make a payment promising you a higher amount on completion of the first task. At some point in the process, you will not be able to contact them again and will lead to a loss of money. 

There are some businesses that promise you high returns for a very small investment. This normally encourages people to invest again with an even higher amount. In this case too, at some point, you may not be able to contact the business or they may shut down leading you to lose a lot of your money. 

Please ensure that you verify the credentials of the person reaching out to you with such opportunities before applying for a part-time job or investing money.
