I was asked to pay by someone who has a fake social media account of a friend or family member

Sometimes fraudsters may create fake social media accounts of your family members or friends, and reach out to you for emergency financial assistance. They may share links or QR codes for you to send them the financial aid. Once you send the money, you will not be able to contact them again, and will lose your money. 

Please always ensure that you verify that you know the person who is reaching out to you before sending any money.
