What if the SMS verification fails?
You may not be able to complete the SMS verification successfully for various reasons. We request that you ensure the following before trying again:
- The mobile number registered with the bank has enough balance to send a verification SMS.
- You have selected the correct SIM slot while initiating the SMS. You can check this in your Phone Settings >> SIM & Network >> Default SIM for SMS.
- You have enabled SMS permissions for the PhonePe app. You can check this by going to your Phone Settings >> Apps & Notifications >> PhonePe >> Permissions.
- Your network and internet connectivity is strong.
Note: One of the primary reasons for SMS verification failure is poor network connectivity. - Your app is updated to the latest version.
Note: If you’re using a dual SIM device, please disable the SIM slot of the mobile number that is not registered with PhonePe.
