How is my UPI PIN different from my ATM PIN and MPIN?
An ATM PIN is a 4-digit code that is usually provided by the bank, and is used to authenticate debit card payments and cash withdrawals from ATMs.
An MPIN is a passcode that you can use to authenticate mobile banking payments like IMPS and NEFT payments and payments on the National Unified USSD platform.
A UPI PIN is a 4 or 6-digit password that you can use to make UPI payments on any payments app. You will need to set a unique UPI PIN for any bank account that you add on PhonePe, if you haven’t already.
Important: Please DO NOT share your UPI PIN, ATM PIN, and MPIN with anyone. PhonePe or banks will never ask you for these PINs.
