Buying an Insurance Policy on PhonePe

Here’s a quick recap on buying an insurance policy on PhonePe:

To buy health, life, or travel insurance:

  1. Tap Insurance at the bottom of the home screen. You can also tap See All under the Insurance section on the home screen. 
  2. Select your insurance type. 
  3. Select a plan or enter the required details to view plans. 
  4. Tap Get Policy.
  5. Enter full name, email ID and date of birth.
  6. Tap Buy and make the payment. 

Note: If you’re purchasing the international travel insurance policy, you will have to tap Get a Quote and share the required details to view the premium that you will have to pay. 

To buy car or bike insurance:

  1. Tap Insurance at the bottom of the home screen. You can also tap See All under the Insurance section on the home screen.
  2. Tap Car/Bike Insurance.  
  3. Enter your car/bike number or tap Don’t remember your car/bike number if you cannot remember the registration number.
  4. Enter all the required details and tap View Plans.
  5. Tap Select Plan.
  6. Tap Buy Plan and make the payment.

 

 

Filing a Claim for a Policy Purchased on PhonePe

To file a claim for any policy you’ve bought on PhonePe, all you have to do is contact the insurance provider as soon as an incident occurs. After your claim is filed, your insurance provider will directly contact you if they require any more documents or formalities. Once you share the necessary documents, within the stipulated time, with the insurance provider, they will validate your documents before approving the claim. Upon approval, they will transfer the claim amount via NEFT to the bank account you’ve provided when submitting your claim.
