What does the Group Arogya Sanjeevani insurance policy not cover?
Here’s what is not covered under this policy:
- Any diagnostics and evaluations that are only for the purpose of diagnosis and not treatment.
- Any admission primarily for enforced bed rest only (rest cure, rehabilitation, and respite care)
- Any surgical treatments for obesity or weight control
- Any treatments for gender change
- Any cosmetic or plastic surgery other than those required in case of an injury or a disease
- Any treatments you require due to an unfortunate event that occurred when you participated as a professional in hazardous or adventure sports, including but not limited to, para jumping, rock climbing, mountaineering, rafting, motor racing, horse racing, scuba diving, hand gliding, skydiving, and deep-sea diving
- Any treatments that are required as you were part of an actual or attempted breach of law with criminal intent
- Any treatments you’ve received in any hospital, from any medical practitioner, or from any other provider other than those specified by the insurer
- Any treatment for alcoholism, drug or substance abuse, or any addictive condition. This also includes any hospitalisation for complications resulting from these treatments.
- Any treatments received in health hydros, nature cure clinics, spas, or similar establishments. This also includes private beds registered as a nursing home attached to such establishments or where admission is arranged wholly or partly for domestic reasons (not medically necessary).
- Any dietary supplements and substances that can be purchased without a prescription, including but not limited to vitamins, minerals, and organic substances. These will be covered only if they have been prescribed by a medical practitioner as part of a hospitalisation claim or day care procedure.
- Any treatment for correction of eyesight due to a refractive error less than 7.5 dioptres
- Any unproven treatments (treatments and procedures or supplies that lack significant medical documentation to support their effectiveness)
- Any sterility and infertility treatments
- Any maternity expenses
- Any treatment required as a result of war (whether declared or not) or nuclear, chemical or biological attack or weapons
- Any domiciliary hospitalisation and Out Patient Department (OPD) treatment
- Any treatments received outside of India
- Any treatments for pre-existing diseases that are listed under the International Classification of Diseases (ICD)
