What is not covered under Guaranteed Returns?

Death due to the following reasons are not covered under Guaranteed Returns:

• Death by suicide within 12 months of policy issuance (risk commencement date). In this case, 80% of the premium amount paid or the surrender benefit as on the date of death will be paid based on which is higher. The nominee will not be eligible to receive the sum assured. 
• Death within 90 days from policy issuance date (risk commencement date), the premium amount paid will be completely refunded to the nominee. This is not applicable in case of an accidental death.
