What if my name in the bank account is different from the name on my PAN card or Aadhaar?
In this case, you’ll be unable to continue with your Mutual Funds account opening due to the name mismatch. The name on your PAN card should match the name in your Aadhaar and bank account details. To change the name on your PAN card:
Tap here and select Apply Online.
Under Application Type, select the option to Edit PAN details.
Under Category, select Individual.
Fill in the rest of the details and Proceed.
To change your name in Aadhaar:
Tap here and tap Login.
Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha, and tap Send OTP.
Enter the OTP and tap Login. The OTP is valid for 10 minutes only.
Tap Edit Aadhaar online and edit the required details.
Keep scanned copies of all documents handy. These documents would be required to update the information on the Aadhaar card.
Tap Proceed to update Aadhaar.
A new page will display your current information.
Enter the details that you need to update and upload the necessary documents.
Check the preview of the newly added details and make the payment.
Note: An update request number (URN) will be generated. You can also download your acknowledgment copy.
To change the name in your bank details, please contact your bank and follow the steps shared by them.
