Why is my self-assessment income tax payment pending even after 2 working days?

In rare cases, due to technical issues, your income tax payments may take longer than usual to be completed. This happens when we are waiting for a payment confirmation from the Income Tax department. In such cases, we recommend you to wait for a few hours and check the History section of your PhonePe app to know the final status of the payment.

In case your pending tax payment fails, the debited amount will be refunded to you within, 

• 3 to 5 days for UPI payments
• 7 to 9 days for credit card payments
