Account Security & Reporting Fraudulent Activity

It is 100% safe and secure to use PhonePe for all your payment needs. However, there are a few points you should keep in my mind to ensure additional security of your money and your PhonePe account. The first step of this is to be aware of the different ways in which fraudsters and unauthorised users operate.

Here are a few important points to note:

  • Do NOT enter your UPI PIN or scan any QR code to receive money. Everytime you enter your UPI PIN, you are making a payment to someone. You will never be required to enter the PIN to receive money. 
  • Do NOT share your card number, OTP, CVV, UPI PIN, or passwords with anyone. PhonePe or its representatives will never call you asking for such confidential information. Do NOT publicly share your mobile number or respond to any suspicious calls. 
  • Do NOT download any applications that can be used to remotely access your device.
  • Do NOT forward any SMS or other communication that you receive from PhonePe to unknown people.
  • Enable a password and screen lock for your PhonePe account so that only you can access it.

If you suspect that someone has used your PhonePe account, or has made a payment that you are unaware of, please tap How do I report a payment fraud on PhonePe? above, select the relevant option and contact us immediately by tapping Report.
